The Riverside Fire Department has proudly served the community for over 125 years, guided by core values of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, ethics, honesty, and safety. Its mission is to protect life, property, and the environment by delivering exceptional all-hazard emergency services, public education, and safety programs. The department responds to a high volume of calls annually, emphasizing preparedness and community resilience.

Responsibilities

• Responding to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other all-hazard events.
• Providing basic and advanced life support services, including emergency medical response and decontamination.
• Conducting fire suppression for structural and wildland fires.
• Performing fire prevention inspections, plan checks, and issuing incident reports.
• Managing specialized teams for swift water rescue, hazardous materials (Type 1 certified), and urban search and rescue.
• Overseeing training, operations from 14 fire stations, and public education on fire safety and emergency preparedness.
• Collaborating with regional partners for large-scale incidents and maintaining equipment for 24/7 readiness.
