The Riverside University Health System – Public Health Department promotes and protects the health of all county residents and visitors, aiming for healthier communities through disease prevention and well-being initiatives. With a staff of nearly 900 professionals, it offers a broad range of services focused on public health education, emergency response, and equity.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and responding to communicable diseases, including investigations and vaccinations.
- Providing health education, nutrition counseling, and community programs for all ages.
- Overseeing environmental health inspections for food safety, water quality, and hazards.
- Managing emergency preparedness, including flood and disaster response planning.
- Offering maternal, child, and family health services, including WIC and clinics.
- Conducting health assessments and promoting wellness through partnerships.
- Handling complaints and providing referrals for public health concerns.
