The Human Resources Department serves as a strategic partner in advancing the City of Riverside’s success by supporting workforce needs, promoting excellence, and attracting/retaining a diverse, qualified team. It handles the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement, with a focus on equity and development.
Responsibilities
- Managing recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and job classifications.
- Overseeing benefits, compensation, and payroll administration.
- Handling employee and labor relations, including negotiations and conflict resolution.
- Providing training, performance management, and professional development programs.
- Ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and equal opportunity policies.
- Administering workers’ compensation, leave programs, and employee assistance.
- Conducting background checks, verifications, and HR policy updates.
