Responsibilities
- Patrolling neighborhoods via radio car, motorcycle, or foot to prevent crime and respond to calls for service.
- Conducting preliminary and follow-up investigations of incidents such as disturbances, burglaries, thefts, vehicle accidents, and other crimes.
- Making arrests, interviewing victims/witnesses/suspects, gathering evidence, and testifying in court.
- Collaborating with other law enforcement agencies for crime investigations and offender apprehension.
- Managing specialized units including SWAT, aviation, arson, and neighborhood policing centers.
- Overseeing personnel training, records, communications, and internal affairs to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Providing community services like background investigations, dispatch, and public safety education.
